Cloverfield

J.J. Abrams-creator and producer of my favorite show Lost, is coming out with a much-anticipated film in January called Cloverfield. The producers of the movie have kept most of the details of the story hidden, from the time they named the project "slusho" or "cheese" or-most recently- "Untitled J.J. Abrams Project".

Well, the trailer is out (click here for Official Website) and looks quite intense. The basic plot revolves around an unknown yet extremely powerful monster terrorizing NYC, and the small group of people experiencing and documenting it.

While this may sound like just another apocalyptic monster flick, Abrams work to date has lead me to believe that there is much more to this film. Will we see the monster? I doubt it. After all, one of the main themes and ideas on Lost is the constant questioning of who or what the "monster" is. What are good and evil and when, if ever, are we able to tell their true form before its too late?

Anyway...enjoy the trailer and please share your thoughts and theories. If I hadn't spent the last hour reading and researching the various economic theories on the Lost Island, perhaps I could start an entire Cloverfield wiki.
